Death.FM Android
A native Android app for the Death.FM stream.

What it does
- Plays the stream with Media3, with lock-screen and notification media controls.
- Shows up in Android Auto as a media app.
- Casts to Chromecast, through the custom receiver rather than the default shared one.
- Scrobbles to Last.fm, linked with the normal browser approval flow.
Under the hood
- Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with Material 3; minimum Android 8.
- A Media3 media library service owns playback. While a cast session is connected, the CastPlayer takes over as the session's active player, so the notification and Android Auto follow what is actually playing.
- Talks to the same stream and now-playing API as the Death.FM web page, natively, rather than embedding the web player.
Distributed as an APK from GitHub releases, not the Play Store. Independent project, not affiliated with Death.FM.
